  • Does OHIP Cover Emergency Eye Care Services?

    OHIP does cover some types of eye care emergencies, but unfortunately not all. For example, acute retinal tears or retinal detachments as well as corneal scratches are covered, but mild infections like pink eye are not. If you have new onset changes to your vision or the health of your eyes, it is extremely important to get assessed by a qualified Optometrist in order to preserve your sight.
